The mission of HSTW (High Schools That Work) Ohio Network is to support the collaborative efforts of schools and organizations in Ohio to create high functioning school improvement cultures that result in students who are college-and career-ready.

HSTW Ohio Network’s vision is to provide Ohio schools and organizations with support and services that:
- Cultivate “cutting-edge” school improvement thinking and programs that are proven to increase student achievement
- Enhance existing efforts to provide quality professional development for district, building and organizational leaders
- Recognize outstanding efforts of schools and school leaders to increase student achievement and raise graduation rates
- Promote the sharing of exemplar school improvement practices through a network of schools throughout northeast Ohio, Ohio and nationally
- Cultivate knowledge and leadership of school improvement efforts among the Board of Trustee members, and Ohio and national school improvement and partner organizations
About HSTW Ohio Network HSTW
(High Schools That Work)
Ohio Network was formed exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to aid schools and organizations exempt from Federal Income Tax Code, section 501(c)(3), by assisting them with the implementation of recognized K-12 school improvement frameworks. Through member services, contributions and grants, the Network provides program support to member schools and organizations.

Build the fiscal capacity of HSTW Ohio Network to support the efforts of schools and organizations in northeast Ohio and Ohio to create high functioning school improvement cultures that result in students who are college and career ready.

Offer school and organization contracted service agreements for five percent fiscal fee (indirect cost) and Project Management fee

Recognize outstanding efforts of schools and school leaders in increasing student achievement and raising graduation rates.

- Every year, recognize schools and leadership with improved student performance on the Ohio Local Report Card with a banner or other recognition, presented to the school board, staff and students.
- Sponsor every year the printing of one or more Best Practice Newsletter for select schools to showcase their best practices in implementing HSTW or MMGW school improvement framework or in implementing a key practice.
- Sponsor every year the site coordinator awards with one and five years of service.

Promote the sharing of exemplar school improvement practices through a network of schools throughout Ohio and nationally.
Scope of Work
Provide presentation grants for schools or individuals to attend and present at the Ohio School Improvement Institute or the HSTW Annual Staff Development Conference based upon a selection or recommendation process.

Cultivate awareness, knowledge and leadership of school improvement efforts by Trustees sponsoring regional meetings and participating in region, state and national meetings and conferences.
Scope of Work
- Attend state and national school improvement conferences and meetings by compensating Trustee members, once annually, for registration cost to attend the Ohio School Improvement Institute or the HSTW Annual Staff Development Conference.
- Host a Superintendent/Principal Summit annually to share best practices with HSTW/MMGW sites and interested schools.
